MAC 32nd Annual Spring Members' Show

The 32nd Annual Spring Members' Show is Muskoka Arts & Crafts at its best.

This gala show displays the strength, vitality, creativity and wealth of talent found within Muskoka Arts & Crafts. This show is your opportunity to publicly display your most recent work that has been completed within the past year. All members are encouraged to be part of this extraordinary show that takes place on March 27, 28 and 29 at the Bracebridge Sportsplex.

All work is judged by professional artists and is eligible for prizes ranging from $50 to $300. See the Call for Entry for a complete list of the awards. The theme for this year's Muskoka Heritage Foundation's Arts & Crafts Award is the flora and fauna of Muskoka's wetlands. The complete criteria is available on our web site (visit the page for the Spring Members' Show and click on the link to the Muskoka Heritage Foundation Award) and by email.
Since 1994, the entry fee has remained the same - $36.75 ($35 + $1.75 GST) for the submission of up to three works. For a Family Membership, the entry fee covers each member participating provided that the total entries do not exceed three. Please note that for family and student members, participation in the Spring Members' Show is limited to those members in grade 9 and over. Due to the low cost of participating in the show, entry fees are not refundable should you cancel your application.
Applications are included with this newsletter. Please read the Call for Entry, then complete the Entry Form and return it, along with the fee, to the office.

Denis Cliff is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy and studied at the University of Victoria, earning a Bachelor of Education. Following post-graduate studies at Toronto's New School of Art, he began showing paintings and then drawings, sculpture and installations. In over 30 years of professional work, he has had 28 one-man shows and 70 group exhibitions in Canada and the U.S. He has taught at York University, University of Toronto, Ryerson, Ontario College of Art and Design, Emily Carr College, the New School of Art, Art's Sake Inc. and many other educational institutions, including the Toronto School of Art which he helped to direct and where he taught for 20 years. Denis recently had a retrospective exhibition of 31 years of his work at the Contor Gallery in Toronto and is currently working on a new form of dimensional landscape painting that is interactive. Prototypes for this new form have been shown at the Haliburton Campus of Fleming College.
